Mrs. Mayra Castaneda
Hello, my name is Mayra Castaneda Ortiz. I am a Special Education Assistant here at Seminary Hills Park. I've been a TA for almost 12 years. I started in Rosemont Elementary in 2011 and then moved to SHP in 2021. I am married and have 3 wonderful children, Raul, Alejandro and Valeria. I enjoy spending time with my family, love to watch movies, and listening to music.
Ms. Teena Miller
Hi, I’m Mrs. Miller.
I grew up in St. Louis Mo, till I was 15 years old, then moved to Texas. I was a Knights Of Columbus Clown from age 4 till I moved at 15. (I still do balloon animals.) I was in the Naval Sea Cadets Corp from age 12 to 18 and was on the color guard for the second Decommissioning of the U.S.S Missouri. I went to Richland High School and studied Hospitality Hotel Management. I worked for Marriott Hotels starting from ages 15 to 27. I went to college at Tarrant County Community College and took a few classes there. I met my husband when I was 22 and we got married at 25. We have 3 kids and 2 grandkids.
I started working at the local church in their Pre-K program as a TA for 4 years from 2006-2011. Then my youngest daughter went to school at Miller Elementary, where I volunteered till she went to Harmony Science Academy, Fort Worth, where I volunteered for 2 years, then got hired and worked 5 more years there in the SPED department from 2015-2022. I worked in Life Skills class and Resource as a TA. I also did Inclusion and was a Substitute teacher there.
I left there in 2022 to go to Arlington ISD to work in the RDSPD Deaf Ed program at Miller elementary. I have always wanted to learn how to sign and what better way than to work and learn. Unfortunately, the program had moved to a different school after being at that school for 30 years. The new location was way too far to drive, so that is how I ended up at SHP Elementary. I am so excited about getting to know everyone here.
